Juliet, new on the needles

I'm so close to finishing the Kilcarra cape, I just need to find some buttons that I'm happy with. This, combined with delivery of Debbie Bliss' new yarn Rialto, was a good excuse to cast on Juliet. I had to try out the yarn didn't I??
This is what Juliet currently looks like...do you think Romeo would be impressed?

My Fit-to-Knit tip for this week: While knitting get up every 20 minutes or so to have a walk around and stretch, this is about the time it will take to drink a cup of tea or coffee.

Kilcarra cape

My current work-in-progress but no longer on the needles. When this grows up (ie. when I get around to sewing it up) it's going to be the Kilcarra cape from the January edition of Knitting magazine. I love the chocolate brown colour and this pattern was just what I was looking for. Though it has reinforced my hatred of moss stitch. Love the stitch, hate doing it continuously.

Welcome to my blog

Hi and welcome to my new blog. All knitting addicts have at some stage sat and knitted for hours only to wake up the next morning with an aching shoulder, back, arm or hand. I'm only 32 so it's not old age. So I've created this blog as a place to come to share tips on how to knit to your hearts content without post-knitting hangover. The added bonus for me is that if I have to blog and put up pictures of my wip's, then I have to knit faster! I do own and run an online knitting shop, but of course everyone is most welcome to share their favourite shops, yarns and pattern ideas, please don't feel restricted.
